Breast Reduction: Should I lose weight first?

Being overweight can certainly play a role in breast size and shape. Ideally, Dr. Grado prefers that the patient be within 10-15 pounds of their desired goal weight prior to surgery. Significant weight loss (or gain) after surgery can have an unpredictable effect on breast size and shape.
Many women with large breasts are unable to exercise to promote weight loss due to the pain associated with their breast size. How can one expect to exercise if walking down the hall causes pain in the shoulders?
